Troubleshooting Multi-Chain Migration Issues

Learn how to resolve common issues when upgrading to multi-chain wallet.

If you're experiencing issues while migrating to Best Wallet's new multi-chain wallet, this guide will help you identify and resolve common problems.

How to successfully migrate

If you have yet to migrate to multi-chain wallets, please read our step-by-step guide.

Common migration issues and solutions:

My assets are missing after migration

Solution: Your assets should show in your old wallets (now labeled EVM-Only and with their original names). If they don't, please try the following:

  1. Find the missing token and enable it. Read our guide on how to find and add tokens to your wallet's token list.

  2. An old wallet may be missing. You can recover your old main wallet in-app or import your other wallets.

  3. You're looking at your new main wallet, which is empty, instead of your old main wallet.

Bitcoin is not appearing in my wallet

Solution: Ensure you've completed the migration to a multi-chain wallet. Bitcoin support is only available in the new wallet, labeled "Multi-Chain". You won't be able to buy, hold, or transfer Bitcoin in your old EVM-Only Wallets.

Bitcoin should automatically appear in your wallet's token list — if it doesn't, please search and enable it by tapping the three dots next to your Tokens/Upcoming Tokens tabs, then Manage Tokens.

The migration process is taking too long

Solution: Migration usually completes within minutes — if it's taking longer, it may be due to a slow internet connection. Please just be patient as Best Wallet migrates your account — if you close the app you may lose your progress or new wallet.

If the issue persists, check the Best Wallet status page or support channels for updates on potential delays.

I used the wrong email during the migration

Solution: By using the wrong email address (you must use the same email as you did when you first set up your Best Wallet), you've created a new account, with only your new multi-chain wallet.

You can recover your old main wallet by going to Settings → Manage Wallets, and there'll be a recovery button below. Read our step-by-step guide on how to recover your old main wallet.

If you can't access your other wallets (Created + Imported), you will need to import them using your backups — read our guide on how to import wallets.

I can’t access my old wallet after migrating

Solution: First, scroll through your wallet cards on your home screen. If you have no other wallets in your Best Wallet, something may have gone wrong during the migration.

A token I previously had is no longer showing

Solution: Some tokens may need to be manually re-added, which you can do by tapping the three dots next to your Tokens/Upcoming Tokens tabs, then Manage Tokens, and then searching/enabling it. Read our guide on how to find and add tokens to your wallet's token list.
