Learn how to import another crypto wallet you own into Best Wallet.

In this article:

Learn how to import existing wallets into the Best Wallet ecosystem.

You can integrate wallets from providers such as MetaMask, Exodus, or Trust Wallet, allowing you to manage your entire crypto portfolio from a single interface.

⚠️ Important: EVM Compatibility

Best Wallet only supports EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) wallet imports. Once imported, these wallets will display assets residing on the Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, and Polygon networks.

To begin the import, you must have your external wallet's Private Key or Secret Recovery Phrase (seed phrase). These can typically be found within the security or settings menu of the wallet provider.

You can follow our video tutorial below or proceed with the step-by-step instructions.

Step 1: Go to Add Wallet

You can add a new wallet from your multi-wallet view by swiping through your wallet cards on the home screen or by going to your Settings tab.

In your multi-wallet view, you can tap the Add Wallet to import a wallet into Best Wallet.

Alternatively, on your Settings tab, go to Manage Wallets, EVM-Only Wallets, and tap the (+) button in the top right. Both processes are identical.

Step 2: Paste in your other wallet's private key

Next, tap the “Import an EVM Wallet” option.

In the next step, you will have to enter the private key or 12-word Secret Recovery Phrase of your other wallet. This is standard practice and allows you full access to your external wallet within the Best Wallet app.

We recommend pasting your external wallet's private key or Secret Recovery Phrase to avoid typos or errors. Once you've entered a valid private key or secret recovery phrase, you will be able to continue.

When importing via a Secret Recovery Phrase, you may need to choose specific accounts to restore, as a single phrase can manage multiple addresses.

Step 3: Customize your imported wallet in Best Wallet

By tapping "Continue", you'll be brought to the customization page for your new wallet.

You can now customize your imported wallet by renaming it, changing the color, and the watermark on the wallet card. This will only change how your imported wallet appears in Best Wallet.

Once you’re done, tap “Done”, and your alternative wallet is ready for use within Best Wallet.

You will also see your imported wallet in your multi-wallet view.

Here you'll see the overall value of your assets in each wallet, plus a combined asset value.

Step 3: Editing your new imported wallet

You'll be able to access and edit your newly imported wallet on the "Manage Wallets" page in Settings.

You can find your newly imported wallet in EVM-Only Wallets.

Next, you can see your newly imported wallet's private keys and your wallet's connected sessions, and you can also edit your wallet's name and appearance.

Please remember that external wallets have limited asset support within Best Wallet.

Can’t see all your tokens in your imported wallet?

Your tokens aren’t lost; they remain safe in your imported wallet, even if you can’t see them. You may have to enable or import that token individually, or it may be that the token is on a chain that is currently not supported in Best Wallet.

If you import a wallet containing both Ethereum (ETH) and Base ETH, you will see your ETH balance, but your Base tokens will not be visible. This is because Best Wallet's imported EVM-Only wallets specifically support the Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, and Polygon networks.

For broader compatibility, Best Wallet offers Multi-Chain wallets that provide native support for Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and many more, allowing you to manage assets across different ecosystems in one place.

Need further support?

If you encounter issues during the import process, first ensure you're copying in the correct Private Key or Secret Recovery Phrase.

If your wallet import still isn't working, please contact the Best Wallet support team in-app by going to Settings → Get Help, or open a ticket on our Support site.

Important Reminder:

No one from Best Wallet staff will ever ask for your private key. Keep these details private and never share them with anyone.
