Learn how to back up your multi-chain wallets in Best Wallet to ensure you can always access your crypto assets.
Backing up your wallet is essential to protect your funds in case of unexpected events, such as losing your device. With Best Wallet’s easy cloud backup option, you can safeguard all your multi-chain wallets together effortlessly.
Important: If you uninstall Best Wallet and later reinstall it, you’ll be prompted to recover your wallet from your backup when logging in. If you haven't backed up your wallet, you won't be able to log back into the Best Wallet app, even with your login details.
Therefore, it is critical that you back up your multi-chain wallet now. If you haven’t backed up your wallet, you won’t be able to recover it, and access to your funds will be permanently lost.
Step 1: Go to your Manage Wallets
First, open your Best Wallet app and head to the Settings tab in the navigation bar.
Next, tap Manage Wallets.
Select Multi-Chain Wallets — you will have to back up your EVM-Only Wallets manually. Read our guide on how to secure your EVM-Only Wallets.
Step 2: Start your wallet backup
On the Multi-Chain Wallets page, tap Cloud Backup.
You’ll see an explanation of how the cloud backup works, and why you should do it.
Read this carefully, then select your preferred backup option: Apple iCloud or Google Drive.
Note: If you're backing up on an Android device, you will only be able to backup to Google Drive.
Step 3: Back up via Google or Apple
Next, follow the onscreen steps to back up your multi-chain wallet(s).
You can choose any account to back up with — it doesn't need to be the same account or method that you used to migrate/sign up with.
Allow Best Wallet to use your account for the backup.
Once that's done, you'll have to protect your backup.
Step 4: Protect your backup
Next, it’s time to add an extra layer of security to your backup. This involves setting up a secret word and a reminder.
For your Secret Word, we recommend a word between 4 and 10 characters long that is personally memorable but hard to guess.
For the reminder, enter a prompt to help you remember your secret word.
For instance, if your secret word is “Tacos”, your reminder could be “Food”. The reminder must be 4 to 16 characters long and cannot repeat your secret word.
Once these fields are filled out, check the acknowledgment box to confirm that you understand the importance of your secret word.
This step ensures you’re aware that losing access to both your device and the secret word means you will not be able to recover your wallet. Tap Continue to finalize your backup.
Your multi-chain wallets are now backed up. This backup securely saves all your multi-chain wallets together in your selected cloud account.
