Learn how to recover your multi-chain wallets from a cloud backup when logging back in. This may be due to you either changing devices or uninstalling the Best Wallet app β you will need a cloud backup to be able to recover all your multi-chain wallets.
Before changing devices or logging out, please back up all your wallets β read our guide on how to back up your multi-chain wallets, plus our guide to make physical backups of EVM-only wallets.
Step 1: Log back in
First, download the Best Wallet app, and log back in by tapping "Get Started".
Next, you need to log in using the same email or account you used when you signed up or migrated. So, if you signed up via Google, log back in using Google.
Make sure to use the same account/email you used before:
You may have to approve Best Wallet access again.
Once that's done, you may get a warning about your device being unrecognized. To restore your multi-chain wallets, tap "Restore Wallet From Backup".
Step 2: Restore wallet from your cloud backup
Restoring your wallet from your cloud backup will revoke access from the old device, meaning you can't access your Best Wallet on two devices simultaneously.
By revoking access to your old device, you won't be able to use that wallet anymore β not to send, swap, or receive tokens in-app.
Once you're ready, tap "Continue".
Next, you'll see the details of your backup:
It'll have the email you backed up with and the date of your last backup. Tap "Restore From Backup" to continue.
Next, enter the secret word you set up when backing up your wallet. If you can't remember it, please tap "Show" on your reminder.
Once you have the right secret word, tap "Continue".
Step 3: Finalize your wallet recovery
You will then have to set a new passcode for your Best Wallet app.
Make sure to pick a memorable passcode and enable biometrics.
Once that is done, you will see your multi-chain wallet(s) in Best Wallet.
How to recover your EVM-only wallets
Restoring your Best Wallet via a cloud backup will only restore access to your multi-chain wallets.
To recover your EVM-only wallets, you will need to import them using their private keys or secret recovery phrase. Read our step-by-step guide on how to import EVM-only wallets.
