Best Wallet does not currently support the direct import of Bitcoin (BTC) wallets.
This is because Best Wallet currently only supports importing EVM wallets, meaning you can only import wallets that support the Ethereum network or select EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) networks.
Read our guide on what EVM-only wallets are.
This means that currently, you can create multi-chain wallets (if you've migrated your wallet) but only import EVM-only wallets.
This guide explains why Bitcoin wallet imports are not currently possible and how you can still manage BTC within Best Wallet.
Why can’t I import a Bitcoin wallet?
Although Best Wallet is multi-chain, the import wallet feature is restricted only to EVM-only wallets.
This means you can't currently import a Bitcoin wallet due to restrictions around how Bitcoin private keys operate. Whilst this may change, the best way to get any Bitcoin you own is to receive it in your multi-chain wallet.
Key differences between Bitcoin-only and EVM-only wallets:
There are several different reasons why the import function doesn't work for Bitcoin-only wallets:
Different blockchain structures: Bitcoin uses the UTXO model, while EVM networks use an account-based model.
Private key and address format: Bitcoin wallets use unique cryptographic standards that don’t match easier-to-import Ethereum-based wallets.
No smart contracts: Best Wallet relies on smart contract interactions for swapping, staking, and DeFi, which Bitcoin doesn’t natively support.
How to manage Bitcoin in Best Wallet
