Best Wallet does not currently support the direct import of multi-chain wallets.
This is because Best Wallet only allows the import of EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) wallets, meaning you can only import wallets that support the Ethereum network or select EVM-compatible chains.
Read our guide on what EVM-only wallets are.
This means that while you can create a multi-chain wallet (if you’ve migrated your wallet), you can only import EVM-only wallets at this time.
This guide explains why multi-chain wallet imports aren’t currently possible and how you can still manage multiple assets in Best Wallet.
Why can’t I import a multi-chain wallet?
Although Best Wallet supports multiple blockchains and is now, by default, a multi-chain wallet, the import wallet feature is restricted to EVM-only wallets.
This means you can’t currently import a multi-chain wallet that includes non-EVM assets due to differences in how different blockchains operate.
While this may change in the future, the best way to manage your assets like Bitcoin (BTC) is to receive them directly in your multi-chain wallet.
Key differences between multi-chain wallets and EVM-only wallets:
Several factors prevent the import function from working with non-EVM wallets:
Different blockchain structures – Non-EVM chains often use models like UTXO (e.g., Bitcoin), which differ from Ethereum’s account-based system.
Private key and address formats – Some blockchains use cryptographic standards that don’t align with Ethereum-based wallets.
How to manage multi-chain assets in Best Wallet
Even though you can’t import a multi-chain wallet, you can either migrate or create a multi-chain wallet in Best Wallet.
This means you deposit non-EVM assets, like Bitcoin (BTC), to any wallet with the "Multi-Chain" tag on it.
How to deposit assets into Best Wallet:
1. Open Best Wallet and tap the Receive button on the wallet card.
2. Search for the asset you want to receive and select it.
3. You will see your wallet’s specific deposit address for that asset.
4. Copy the address and send the asset from an external wallet or exchange.
5. Once the transaction is confirmed, your asset will appear in Best Wallet.
