Learn how to recover your wallet by entering your alphanumeric backup key or by uploading your backup file.
Please note that Best Wallet currently only supports manual restores for Google Drive backups. Support for Apple iCloud backups will be added in a future update.
You have two easy ways to manually restore your backup, outlined below.
Option 1: Restore using your alphanumeric key
If you’ve backed up your wallet to Google Drive, you can restore it by pasting your alphanumeric key.
Step 1: Locate your backup file
Open Google Drive and find the file named:
Bestwallet-backup-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
Or
Device + date (e.g., iPhone 17 – Nov 5, 2025)
Or
Custom name: (e.g., Best Wallet Backup 1)
The name of your backup depends on how you created your wallet and when you backed it up.
Step 2: Copy your backup key
Open the file and copy the alphanumeric key inside.
Step 3: Paste your key to restore
In Best Wallet, go to Restore Wallet, paste your key into the Backup Key field, and follow the on-screen steps to complete the restore.
Option 2: Restore by uploading your backup file
You can also restore your wallet by uploading your backup file directly from your device.
Step 1: Export your backup file
Open Google Drive and find the file named:
Bestwallet-backup-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
Or
Device + date (e.g., iPhone 17 – Nov 5, 2025)
Or
Custom name: (e.g., Best Wallet Backup 1)
Export this file from Google Drive to your device’s local storage.
Step 2: Upload your file to Best Wallet
In Best Wallet, go to Restore Wallet and tap Upload backup file.
Select the exported file from your device’s local storage, then follow the on-screen instructions to finish restoring your wallet.
Things to remember:
Make sure you’re signed in to the same Google account you used for your backup.
Check that your internet connection is stable — we don't advise using open or free public wifi.
Never share your backup key or file with anyone, even if they claim they are from Best Wallet support. Both give full access to your wallet, meaning malicious actors could take your funds.
