Learn what to do if you've sent a cryptocurrency to your Best Wallet that is on a currently unsupported network.
For example, if you've sent Ethereum (ETH) on the Base network to your Best Wallet, you won't be able to see that ETH in your wallet balance. Don't worry, your crypto is not lost, just not accessible in your Best Wallet app. Below we will go through the steps of how to see your cryptocurrency again!
Import your Best Wallet into another provider
If you've sent crypto on an unsupported network to a wallet in your Best Wallet, you won't be able to see or transact those tokens. This does not mean your crypto is lost, just that it's currently not accessible within Best Wallet.
What you will need to do is import your Best Wallet into another crypto wallet provider that supports the network of your crypto. So, if you did send ETH on the Base network to your Best Wallet, to see, send, swap, or sell those ETH tokens, you would need to import your Best Wallet into another wallet provider that supports Base (like Coinbase's non-custodial wallet).
You can import any of your wallets in Best Wallet to another provider with your wallet's private key.
How to access your Best Wallet's private key:
Accessing any of your wallet's private keys in Best Wallet is easy. Watch our two-minute guide:
In short, you can access your wallet's private keys by going to the Settings tab, going to Manage Wallets, then selecting a wallet, and then tapping Private Keys. For more details, read our step-by-step guide on how to find and copy your private key.
Once you've imported your Best Wallet to another wallet provider
By importing your wallet into a new provider that supports the Base network, you will now see your ETH tokens. You will be able to send your Base ETH to another wallet, or swap it cross-chain to a cryptocurrency on a supported network in Best Wallet.
Although this is perfectly safe, make sure to handle your private key safely, and only import your Best Wallet into wallet providers that you trust and are trustworthy. Your wallet's private key is like the master key to all your crypto โ if someone can access it, they can access and transfer all your crypto.
What are crypto networks?
Crypto networks, also commonly referred to as blockchains, chains, or blockchain networks, are essentially a digital infrastructure that facilitates cryptocurrency transactions. There are many different types of crypto networks, such as Ethereum, Polygon, Bitcoin, Base, and so on. Whilst some can interact seamlessly (Ethereum and Polygon), some cannot (Ethereum and Bitcoin), meaning that wallet providers often do not support all crypto networks.
Read our guide on crypto networks.
Best Wallet currently supports three major cryptocurrency networks: Ethereum, Polygon, and BNB Smart Chain. That means you can buy, swap, hold, and send any cryptocurrency available on these supported crypto networks.
To ensure you're transacting on the right networks, read our guide on how to check which network your crypto is on.
The next supported network in Best Wallet will be Bitcoin, followed by Solana and Base.
