Learn the steps to connect your Best Wallet to desktop websites and decentralised applications (dApps).

This is useful if you want to use your Best Wallet to buy a cryptocurrency presale, transact on a decentralised exchange like Best DEX, or play on an online crypto casino all from your mobile device.

By connecting your Best Wallet, you allow your wallet to interact seamlessly with the website or dApp to carry out transactions securely without revealing any sensitive information.

Note: It is important to only connect your Best Wallet to trusted websites and dApps.

The most common way to connect your Best Wallet to websites/dApps will be via WalletConnect. This is an open protocol for connecting desktop dApps to mobile crypto wallets, often via a QR code that you can scan in Best Wallet.

Step 1: Going to the website or dApp

First, find the connect wallet button on the website or dApp you are looking to use. For example, on the Best DEX site, the “Connect Wallet” is in the top right and underneath the swap option.

Step 2: Connecting your Best Wallet

Once you’ve hit the “Connect Wallet” option in Best DEX, you will be presented with options on which wallet to connect.

Whilst Best DEX has an option to directly connect with Best Wallet, on other platforms you may have to select the “WalletConnect” option, but the process is the same.

If you select the Best Wallet option, you will be presented with a unique QR code designed specifically to connect your Best Wallet.

If Best Wallet isn't a direct option, you can select "WalletConnect", which is usually available on most other major crypto websites and dApps. It will bring up a generic QR code that can be scanned by Best Wallet.

Step 3: Scanning the QR grid

Now, head to your Best Wallet app on your mobile device and click on the scan icon in the top right corner of your wallet card.

This will bring up the camera in Best Wallet. Scan the QR code, making sure the whole QR grid is within the white box.

Alternatively, you can upload a photo of the QR code by clicking on the picture icon at the bottom left of the scan page. This is useful if you screenshot the QR code on your mobile device.

Step 4: Authorising the connection in Best Wallet

Once you have scanned the QR code, a confirmation screen will pop up on your app. It will tell you about the site or dApp is trying to connect to your wallet. You also have the option to select which Best Wallet you want to connect.

This will bring up a list of your wallets in your Best Wallet app.

Once you’ve selected the correct wallet, tap the “Connect” button.

Once you press "Connect", you should get a confirmation that the connection to the website/dApp was successful.

Step 5: Using your Best Wallet on the website or dApp

Your Best Wallet will now be connected to the desktop dApp or website. In Best DEX, your wallet will be connected at the top right, including your token balance.

You will now be able to use the crypto in your wallet to fund the actions on your chosen platform, like swapping or staking your crypto.

Things to remember

The best crypto practice is to only connect your Best Wallet to websites or dApps you trust and are widely used. Double-check each website before, ensuring they are the legitimate website/dApp you want to use.

Although connecting your wallet is relatively safe, it is still best to exercise caution and research each website or dApp you want to interact with your Best Wallet.

Once you’ve finished using a website or dApp, it’s good practice to straightway disconnect your Best Wallet.
