Learn why the "Speed Up" button is disabled after one use for BTC transactions and how this change prevents duplicate transactions and wasted fees.
If you’ve recently sent a Bitcoin (BTC) transaction and noticed that you can only "Speed Up" the transaction once, this is for good reason. This feature was designed to make Bitcoin management simpler and more cost-effective.
Why the change?
Previously, you could trigger multiple “Speed Up” attempts for a single pending Bitcoin transaction. While this was intended to help, it often led to:
Duplicate Entries: Multiple versions of the same trade appearing in your history, all pending.
Wasted Fees: Paying for several fee increases when only one was necessary.
Confusion: It was difficult to track which "Speed Up" attempt the blockchain would eventually pick.
To solve this, Best Wallet now limits the "Speed Up" action for BTC to once per pending transaction.
What’s new in the app?
We have streamlined the interface to protect your funds and provide more clarity:
One-Time Action: Once you successfully submit a "Speed Up" request for a BTC transaction, the option will be disabled or hidden for that specific trade.
Clear Feedback: If you try to speed up the same transaction again, you will see a message: “Speed Up already used for this transaction.”
Optimized Management: This ensures you only pay the necessary fee increase to get your transaction confirmed without accidentally overspending on gas.
Are other chains affected?
No. This update is specific to Bitcoin (BTC) due to the unique way the Bitcoin network handles "Replace-By-Fee" (RBF) transactions.
Transactions on EVM chains (such as Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, or Polygon) remain unaffected. On those networks, you can still speed up or cancel transactions multiple times if needed, as those blockchains handle transaction replacement differently.
Pro-Tips for Bitcoin transfers
Since you only get one "Speed Up" attempt, make it count:
Check the Network: If the Bitcoin network is extremely congested, select the "High" priority during your one-time Speed Up attempt to ensure it clears.
Be Patient: Bitcoin naturally takes longer to confirm than other chains (often 10-60 minutes). Even after a Speed Up, it may still take a few minutes for a miner to pick up the new version of your trade.
Monitor in History: You can track the status of your boosted transaction in the Trade -> History tab.
