Understanding "Smart Contract" Transactions in Best Wallet

Learn what “Smart Contract” transactions are & why they appear in your History.

Updated over a week ago

In this article:

Learn why some transactions are classified as "Smart Contract" in your wallet.

This article will explain what qualifies as a Smart Contract transaction, why some actions like claiming or staking Upcoming Tokens appear under this label, and how to understand each type of transaction.

What is a "Smart Contract" transaction?

In Best Wallet, most transactions are labeled clearly: Send, Receive, Swap, or Buy.

"Smart Contract," however, is a catch-all category for actions that interact directly with blockchain programs beyond basic transfers.

Common examples include:

  • Using decentralized exchanges (DEXs) or other dApps

  • Buy & Stake or Stake transactions in the Upcoming Tokens tab

  • Claiming an Upcoming Token

These transactions trigger the Smart Contract label because they involve more complex blockchain interactions that don’t fit into the standard Send/Receive/Swap/Buy categories.

How to check Smart Contract transaction details

If you want to confirm what a Smart Contract transaction was for:

Open Best Wallet and go to your Trade tab.

Then tap History.

Tap the transaction labeled Smart Contract.

Review the details in the bottom sheet. This will show the specific action, token involved, and any amounts or addresses associated.

To view the specific type of transaction it was, tap on "View on chain explorer" to view it on a blockchain explorer — this will often include more accurate transaction details.

Tip: For Upcoming Token actions like Claim or Stake, this detail confirms your transaction completed successfully, even if the label is generic.

In the coming months, we are looking to expand the types of transaction tags to more accurately summarize the types of transactions in your wallet.

Summary of Smart Contract transactions in Best Wallet

  • Smart Contract transactions cover blockchain interactions that don’t fit traditional categories.

  • This includes DEX activity and Upcoming Token actions like Claim, Stake, or Buy & Stake.

  • Checking the transaction details in your History tab ensures transparency, with breakdowns of status and gas fees.

Smart Contract labels are normal and nothing to worry about — your tokens are safe, and the transaction type hasn't changed.
