Why Aren’t My Upcoming Token Purchases Appearing in My Wallet?

Learn what happens when you buy an Upcoming Token.

Updated over a week ago

In this article:

Learn why your Upcoming Tokens purchases aren’t visible in your wallet's token list after buying, and what steps you need to take to claim them once they’re ready.

This is because Upcoming Tokens are pre-launch and therefore not live on a blockchain, making them untradeable during their token sale period.

What to do if you've bought an Upcoming Token

If you’ve purchased an Upcoming Token in the Upcoming Tokens tab of your Best Wallet and noticed they aren’t showing up in your wallet’s token list, don’t worry—this is completely normal.

Think of buying Upcoming Tokens as reserving them — you will receive your tokens when the token fully launches.

If you can't see your tokens in your token list even after the token sale ends, this might be for many reasons:

The TGE hasn’t happened yet

The Token Generation Event (TGE) is when a project officially mints and distributes its tokens to buyers. This event often coincides with the token’s listing on decentralized exchanges. If the TGE has not occurred, your purchased tokens remain in a holding phase.

There's nothing for you to do at this stage, just stay updated on the project, and they and Best Wallet will share the TGE details in due course.

You haven’t claimed your new tokens

After purchasing an Upcoming Token, you must also wait until the claiming period begins.

Once this occurs, you’ll need to manually claim your tokens in your Best Wallet app or the token project’s official platform/website. Until you complete this step, the tokens will not appear in your wallet.

The claiming process ensures that tokens are securely distributed to investors and prevents unauthorized transactions before the official launch.

The token is not imported into your wallet

In some cases, tokens may not appear in your wallet even after claiming them if they are not yet imported into your wallet.

Whilst any claimed token should automatically be imported, if it's not, you'll have to find its contract address (often shared by Best Wallet's official X account during the claim period) and import it in.

What to do if you've bought a Promoted Token

If you've purchased a Promoted Token in Best Wallet and you can't see your new tokens in your wallet, don't worry—there's a simple fix.

Promoted Tokens are essentially newer or lower market cap tokens sold directly in Best Wallet — often they're fair launches or past Upcoming Tokens. Read our guide on Promoted Tokens here.

Once your Promoted Token purchase is confirmed, you will see your balance in the main token list tab on your home screen.

If you don't see them, just refresh your token list. You can do this by going to your wallet's home screen, tapping the three dots next to the Upcoming Tokens tab, and then ‘Refresh list’.

Once that's done, you should see your new tokens in your wallet's token list. Read our guide on how to find and enable a token.

What to do after purchasing an Upcoming Token

While you may not see your tokens immediately in your main wallet, here’s what you can do during the Upcoming Token sale period:

Track your tokens in your Upcoming Tokens tab

During the token sale period, your tokens will remain visible in the Upcoming Tokens tab in your Best Wallet. This section allows you to monitor their status, track their value, and receive updates on any important milestones, including the TGE and claiming periods.

Once the listing goes live and the tokens are officially launched, you will be able to claim them, and then they will be visible in your main token list, ready for you to hold or trade.

Stay informed about key updates

Best Wallet keeps you in the loop with real-time notifications about your Upcoming Token purchase.

You will receive alerts when the claiming period begins, when the TGE is scheduled, and when the tokens officially go live on exchanges. These notifications ensure you don’t miss any important updates and can take action as soon as the tokens are available.

Make sure you've got ETH or BNB in your wallet for the gas fee when claiming

When the project's token sale period ends and the claim period opens, you will need to claim your new tokens before being able to trade them. This will incur a gas fee, which will be payable in either ETH or BNB (depending on which network you bought on).

It's good practice to make sure you've got a decent amount of ETH or BNB in your wallet so that you can successfully claim and trade your new tokens.
