Learn where to find the slippage settings in Best Wallet, with a step-by-step guide to changing your slippage tolerance.

Best Wallet provides an easy way to manage slippage, the price difference that can occur between when you start a swap and when it is confirmed. To learn more about what swap slippage is, read our guide explaining what it is and how it impacts your trades.

By adjusting your slippage tolerance, you can ensure your trades are successful even during high market volatility.

Step 1: Start your swap

First, open the Swap screen in your Best Wallet app. Select the tokens you wish to exchange and enter the amount. For more information on swapping in-app, please read our step-by-step guide on how to swap tokens.

Before proceeding, please tap the swap settings symbol.

Step 2: Choose or enter your percentage

Your swap slippage tolerance should be automatically set to 2%. We recommend keeping this for most trades, apart from when trading newly launched tokens or tokens with smaller market capitalizations.

This means that you have two options when setting your swap's slippage:

  • Auto: Best Wallet automatically calculates the safest slippage for your trade.

  • Manual/Custom: You can type in a specific percentage (e.g., 1%, 5%, or 10%).

Tip: If your swap keeps failing with an error like "Price Impact Too High" or "Price Changed," try increasing your slippage by 1-2% at a time, or 5% for newly launched tokens, like upcoming tokens.

Important: We recommend keeping your swap settings at 2% unless you are swapping an upcoming token/newly launched token. Having your swap slippage at 2% helps maintain your swap value.

Step 4: Confirm and swap

Once you have selected your desired slippage:

  1. Tap Save or go back to the preview screen.

  2. Review your updated swap details to ensure you're happy with the "Minimum Received" amount.

  3. Tap Swap to submit your transaction.

Which slippage should I use?

Choosing the right slippage depends on what you are trading. Use this table as a general guide:

Token Type

Recommended Slippage

Why?

Stablecoins (USDT, USDC)

2%

Prices rarely move, so you don't need much range.

Major Tokens (ETH, BNB)

2%

High liquidity means prices stay relatively stable.

New/Meme Tokens

5% – 10%

These are very volatile; low slippage will cause swaps to fail.
