Learn the simple steps to buy a wide range of cryptocurrencies directly in Best Wallet.
Important: This article is specifically for users using Best Wallet version 2.5.1 or later — to buy crypto if you're using version 2.4.5 or earlier, read our guide here.
Buy cryptocurrencies like BTC, ETH, USDT, and many more using a credit or debit card, Apple or Google Pay, bank transfer, or other local methods.
By integrating Onramper, a platform that aggregates and selects the best platforms to buy and sell crypto, you get the most competitive prices and lowest fees when buying crypto through Best Wallet.
When buying crypto in Best Wallet, your new cryptocurrency tokens will be sent directly to your wallet, therefore avoiding the slow and expensive transfer process when buying independently.
Step 1: Set up your purchase
First, it's important to note that the wallet you start the purchase in will be the wallet that receives your new crypto.
To begin, tap the "Buy" button on your wallet card from the home screen.
Next, select the token you want to buy.
After you've picked the token, you will be brought to an in-app purchase page, where you will be paired with the best provider for your purchase.
Step 2: Set up your crypto purchase
Once on the Onramper widget, you will be able to set up your purchase.
First, enter how much you want to buy.
Next, select which payment method you'd like to use.
What options you get depend on where you're located, what cryptocurrency you're buying, and how much you're buying.
Once you've done that, select a provider for your crypto purchase.
Whilst Best Wallet automatically suggests the provider that is best for your specific purchase, you may want to look through the options, as there are many considerations, such as best price, best performance, speed of purchase, and KYC checks.
Once you've selected which provider suits you and have double-checked all the details, hit "Buy ETH" at the bottom.
Step 3: Finalise your purchase through the provider
This will connect you to the provider for your purchase.
All you need to do is open Topper in a new tab — this will either keep you within Best Wallet or open your device's browser.
Once that is done, you may have to open an account with the provider. This depends on the provider, but with Topper, you will have to set up an account with an email address or an Apple or Google account.
Depending on where you reside, you might also have to do an identification check, which is an unavoidable part of buying cryptocurrency and will be necessary as per the provider's requirements.
This is never set or fulfilled by Best Wallet and is solely dependent on the crypto purchase provider. Best Wallet will never process or access any personal information from buying or selling crypto.
Once you've finished your KYC, you will be able to confirm your purchase. Keep a note of any Transaction ID or receipt the provider gives you.
You may also have to verify/authorize your crypto payment with your bank provider, depending on where you are located and your bank's policy on crypto purchases.
Reminder: While this process is done via a third-party provider, your crypto purchase will go directly to your wallet.
Step 4: Receive your new crypto in Best Wallet
Once you have completed your purchase with the provider, you can leave the Buy page and return to the home screen.
If you encounter any issues, it's best to first contact the provider's support team as they can track your purchase and troubleshoot any problems accurately.
There may be a slight delay in showing the tokens you bought, but that is to be expected, especially if buying Ethereum (ETH) or a token on the Ethereum network, as there are often delays in processing transactions due to network congestion.
Once your purchase is complete, your new tokens will show in your token list, and your wallet's balance will also be updated.
You will also be able to see your purchase by going to the History section in the Trade. Remember, your purchase may take some time to appear in your Best Wallet app.
You will see a list of all the different transactions made in your wallet.
Once you tap on the transaction, it will tell you the transaction status and a breakdown of the sender/receiver and fees.
How long will it take before your crypto shows in Best Wallet?
Depending on what crypto you’ve bought and the provider of the purchase, it could take anywhere between a few minutes, a few hours, or even a few days.
Remember, you can further check the status of your purchase via the provider you used. They should have given you some sort of receipt/transaction ID that will help you track the progress of your crypto purchase.
If you've bought via your bank card, you can also check your online banking app to see if the money has left your account.
However, it's best to wait a few hours before troubleshooting your purchase, as crypto purchases can be a lengthy process.
Struggling to buy crypto in Best Wallet?
If your crypto purchase keeps failing, it may be due to the provider you have chosen. Either contact their support team or pick another provider to process your purchase.
If you've tried several onramp providers and your purchase keeps failing, it may be due to other factors, like your KYC or bank provider. Please contact the Best Wallet support team via [email protected] or open a ticket on our Support site.
Important reminder: Best Wallet will never request your wallet’s private key or secret recovery phrase. Keep this information strictly private and do not share it with anyone.
