How To Swap Solana in Best Wallet

Learn how to swap crypto to and from SOL in-app.

Updated this week

In this article:

Learn the simple steps to swap to and from Solana (SOL) in Best Wallet. Whether you want to swap ETH to SOL or swap your SOL into stablecoins like USDC or other EVM tokens, Best Wallet makes the process simple.

Swaps to Solana are handled via cross-chain routes, meaning you're moving value between blockchains — from Ethereum to Solana, from Solana to Base, and more.

If you're looking for how to swap tokens on the Solana blockchain, please read our guide on how to swap SPL tokens.

Step 1: Get started

There are a few ways to begin a swap in Best Wallet. The easiest is to tap the Swap button on your wallet card from the home screen.

You can also access the swap feature from the Trade tab, or by tapping any token in your list and choosing “Swap.” All of these lead to the same swap flow.

Note: You can only swap SOL or swap into SOL from a multi-chain wallet in Best Wallet.

Step 2: Set up your Solana swap

Once you’re on the Swap screen, double-check that the correct wallet is selected at the top. Tap it to change wallets if needed.

You'll see a list of all your wallets in Best Wallet — remember you can only hold and trade Solana in your multi-chain wallets.

Next, tap the first “Select Token” box.

If you're trying to get SOL, select the token you're starting with — for example, ETH or USDT. If you're trying to swap out of SOL, then select Solana (SOL) here.

Then tap the second “Select Token” box to pick the receiving token.

Choose the token you want to receive — in this example, SOL.

Pay close attention to the network badge shown beside each token. SOL will show the Solana network icon, while EVM tokens like ETH or USDC will show their respective networks.

Step 3: Enter your swap amount

Now enter how much of your chosen token you want to swap.

You can tap the Max button to swap your full balance — but Best Wallet will automatically leave a small buffer for gas fees if you're using a native token like ETH or SOL.

Once you enter your swap amount, Best Wallet will calculate the optimal route for the swap. This includes bridging across blockchains, so it may take a few seconds.

You’ll then see:

  • The estimated amount of SOL (or other token) you’ll receive

  • Exchange rate between your tokens

  • A breakdown of gas fees

  • Any provider fees, too

If you're happy with the swap details, tap Preview Transaction to move forward.

Step 4: Understand gas and provider fees

Swapping to or from SOL involves a cross-chain bridge. That means you're moving between two completely separate networks — for example, Ethereum and Solana.

Gas Fees (EVM → SOL):

You’ll pay gas on the source network — for example, Ethereum or Base — to initiate the swap.

No additional Solana gas fee is required to receive the SOL, but Best Wallet may include a buffer to initialize your Solana token account if needed.

Gas Fees (SOL → EVM):

When swapping from SOL to another chain, you’ll pay a small Solana gas fee, and a larger EVM gas fee on the destination network when your new token is delivered.

Solana’s gas fees are very low (usually under $0.01), but EVM fees can vary.

Gas Fees (BTC → SOL):

For any swaps from Bitcoin to Solana, you will need to pay the gas fee in BTC, which averages between $0.50 - $2.50, plus a provider cost.

Provider Fees:

Swaps involving SOL go through trusted third-party bridge providers. This includes:

  • Routing fees for converting tokens across liquidity pools

  • Protocol fees for the bridge itself

  • Any network fees required by the destination chain

All fees are displayed clearly before you complete the swap. Best Wallet does not charge additional fees beyond what the bridge providers set.

Tap View Details to see a full fee breakdown before finalizing your swap.

Step 5: Finalize your swap

When you're ready, tap Swap to begin the process.

If you're swapping cross-chain for the first time, you may see an additional information step.

If you're swapping from a non-native token (like USDC), you may first need to approve access. This allows the protocol to access that token for the swap and is completely secure inside Best Wallet.

Once confirmed, your transaction will be submitted to the blockchain.

Step 6: Wait for your swap to complete

Cross-chain swaps — including those involving Solana — take longer to process than same-chain swaps.

That’s because your crypto is being moved from one blockchain to another via a third-party bridge, then routed through multiple liquidity pools.

Expect your swap to take a few minutes. In rare cases (especially if the Ethereum network is congested), it may take longer.

Once the swap is complete, your new token — like SOL — will appear in your wallet and update your token balance.

You can view the progress or status at any time from the History section under the Trade tab.

Why your SOL swap might take longer

Solana is fast, but swaps from EVM chains (like Ethereum or Base) still require external confirmations, provider routing, and multi-step execution.

  • Cross-chain swaps take longer than same-chain swaps

  • Ethereum gas spikes can slow down processing

  • You may experience a short delay before your new token appears in Best Wallet

Rest assured, your tokens are on the way. You can check status updates in the History tab or via the swap provider if available.

Need further support?

If your swap fails, gets stuck, or you're unsure what happened, first:

  • Check that you have enough balance to cover the gas fee

  • Make sure you selected the right tokens and networks

  • Review the transaction status in the Trade tab
