If you’ve staked tokens during their Upcoming Token sale or after, you may be wondering why your tokens aren’t immediately available to withdraw.
This is because most staking programs include an unlock period (sometimes called a cooldown period or unstaking period), which is a set number of days you must wait after a token launches before you can withdraw your staked tokens.
What is a staking unlock period?
A staking unlock period is the required wait time before you can withdraw tokens you've staked during or after a project’s pre-launch sale.
Most Upcoming Token projects set a standard 7-day unlock period starting from the token’s official claim date. This period ensures the staking program functions as intended and helps stabilize the token’s early market activity.
Example:
Let’s say you bought and staked a token during its pre-launch sale, and the project launches on July 10 at 2:00 PM UTC. You’ll need to wait until July 17 at 2:00 PM UTC to be able to withdraw your staked tokens.
During this time, your tokens are still yours — they’re just locked and non-withdrawable. You may also continue to earn staking rewards if the project supports it.
Where can I check if my tokens are unlocked?
You can usually see the status of your staked tokens directly in the Staking Dashboard on the project’s website. Your unlock date may also be included in official project announcements or on the staking interface itself.
If your tokens are still locked, the “Withdraw” button will typically be disabled or hidden.
Why can’t I withdraw in Best Wallet?
Currently, withdrawals of staked tokens must be done via the project’s website, not in Best Wallet. We’ll always link to official dashboards in our claim guides. You can also read our guide on how to withdraw your staked tokens after they unlock.
Need further support?
First, please make sure:
You’re using the same wallet you used to stake your tokens
The unlock period has ended (usually 7 days from the claim date)
You’re connected to the official staking dashboard via the project’s website
If you need more help, please email our support team at [email protected] or open a ticket through our support website.
Important Reminder: Nobody from Best Wallet or any token project will ever ask for your wallet’s private key. Never share this information with anyone.
